The Great Delta Bear Affair was first observed in 2002 on the 100th anniversary of President Theodore Roosevelt's famous bear hunt in Sharkey County, Mississippi. The Bear Hunt that led to the creation of the Teddy Bear (see The Teddy Bear Story). Since that time it has become an annual event embraced by the community and filled with great entertainment.

Continuous musical acts, a tour of nearby archaeological sites, a bird walk, a 5K run/walk, a distance bicycle ride, seminars, book signings by Mississippi authors, a chainsaw wood carver, arts and crafts vendors, food vendors, Teddy Roosevelt and Holt Collier impersonators and lots of friendly folks highlight this first class festival held on the courthouse square in Rolling Fork.
